1. Information We Collect

Information you give us:

• Account details: your name, email address and password (stored only as a secure hash)
• Your preferences: favorite fairs, alerts, saved searches, email settings and your home state
• Vendor profile information you choose to publish
• Expense records you enter in the Pro expense tracker
• Fair submissions, corrections, organizer claims and the evidence you send with them
• Reviews, and photos with their captions
• Messages you send through the contact form or by email, including attachments
• Payment details, which go directly to our payment processor; we never see your full card number

Information collected automatically:

• Usage data, such as pages visited and features used, through Google Analytics
• Your IP address and browser details, used for security and abuse prevention and stored with corrections and support requests
• Approximate location (your state) estimated from your IP address when you sign up, so the weekend digest can show fairs near you; you can change it any time
• Precise location, only if you allow your browser to share it for distance search
• Whether our emails were delivered and opened and which links were clicked
• Cookies and similar technologies (see section 6)

Information from public sources: event details and organizer contact information published on event websites, event platforms, community calendars and similar sources, which we use to build listings.

2. How We Use Information

• To run TheCraftMap: accounts, listings, favorites, alerts and Pro features
• To email you about your account, your subscription, decisions on things you sent us, replies to your messages, and the reminders and digests you choose to receive
• To invite organizers to claim their event's listing, sent to the contact address published for the event; every invitation has an unsubscribe link
• To review submissions, corrections, claims, photos and reviews, and to protect vendors from misleading or fraudulent events
• To understand how the site is used and improve it
• To show advertising to visitors who are not Pro members

3. Automated Review and AI

We use automated rules and AI tools to help review what users send us and to answer support requests. Fair submissions, corrections, organizer claims, photos and support messages may be read by these tools, which can approve, decline, or pass an item to a person. Photos are screened for unsafe content. AI also helps write some listing descriptions from a listing's details and draft replies to support messages. When we decline something you sent, we email you the reason, and you can reply to have a person review it.

4. Who We Share Information With

We do not sell your personal information. We share it only with:

• Service providers that host the site and its database, process payments, and send email (including tracking whether emails are delivered, opened and clicked)
• AI service providers that screen photos, review submissions, corrections, claims and support messages, draft support replies, and help write listing descriptions (see section 3)
• Advertising and analytics providers, including Google (see section 6)
• Authorities, when the law requires it or to protect our users and the service
• A buyer or successor, if TheCraftMap is sold or transferred, under the same protections

Some information is public by design: listings, approved photos, your reviews (with your display name), and any vendor profile you publish.

5. Organizers Listed on TheCraftMap

If your contact details appear on a listing, they came from your event's public materials or from you. You can claim the listing to update them yourself, or email hello@thecraftmap.com and we will correct or remove them.

6. Advertising & Cookies

We use cookies and similar technologies to operate the site, remember your preferences, and understand how the site is used. We also display advertising to support our free tier (Pro members browse ad-free).

• Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this and other websites.
• Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to you based on your visit to our site and/or other sites on the internet.
• You may opt out of personalized advertising via Google Ads Settings, or opt out of third-party vendors' use of cookies at aboutads.info.
• We use Google Analytics to understand site usage; you can opt out with the Google Analytics Opt-out Add-on.
• Some product links are Amazon affiliate links; Amazon may set its own cookies when you follow one.

7. How Long We Keep Information

We keep account information while your account is open. Content you contribute stays as long as it supports a listing. Records of review decisions (including declined submissions, corrections, claims and photos), support conversations and email logs are kept so we can answer questions about them and prevent abuse. You can ask us to delete your information at any time; we will, except where we need to keep something for legal reasons or to prevent fraud.

8. Your Choices and Rights

• See, correct or update your information from your account page, or ask us for a copy
• Delete your account and associated data by emailing hello@thecraftmap.com
• Unsubscribe from any email with the link at its bottom, or change email settings on your account page
• Change your home state, used for the weekend digest, on your account page
• Opt out of personalized advertising and analytics as described in section 6

9. Data Security

We use appropriate safeguards, including encrypted connections and hashed passwords, to protect your information. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure.

10. Children

TheCraftMap is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their personal information. If you believe a child has given us information, email hello@thecraftmap.com and we will delete it.

11. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy. When a change is significant we will notify you by email or with a notice on the site before it takes effect.
