Twice a year, twenty-four blocks of 6th Street, downtown Austinβs Entertainment District (Brazos to I-35) are transformed into the annual Pecan Street Festival. With more than 300 juried artists and original artisans, three stages of live music, a wide variety of ethnic and regional food, childrenβs workshops and more, the Pecan Street Festival has been a family tradition for thirty-three years. Festival-goers enjoy magicians, jugglers, comedians, dancers, international cuisine, carnival rides and thousands of beautiful people.
As a free, family event, the Pecan Street Festival is the largest art festival in Central Texas, attracting over 300,000 people per event and generating $43 million in economic impact. Local musicians provide entertainment on three stages beginning at Noon and continuing into the late evening hours, and proceeds benefit local charities including the Austin Boxer Rescue, Friends of the Planetarium and United Care USA.
