Spencer's Flagfest 41st

The brain child of Spencer business people in 1984, Flagfest is a patriotic event celebrating our country, our flag and our heritage. The second weekend of June is set aside for fun and family with food, children’s amusements, street dance, grand cruise, the famous parade and much, much more. Each year the committee strives to keep the weekend a fun and FREE event for the entire family.

Jury fee is $20 to be sent with application. Late applications are taken through May 1st with an added $10 late fee. This event is in conjunction with Friday after 5 held on Friday, June 12 and the All Class Reunion for Oskaloosa High School that occurs Friday, June 12 through Sunday, June 14.

Walnut Antique Show 43rd

More than 340 dealers from across the United States will set up their booths, restocking daily with newly displayed items. If you haven't attended the Walnut AMVETs Antique Show, you will discover that this is the show to "find it and buy it."

Eleven-time winner of the prestigious Grand Pinnacle Award from the International Festivals and Events Association (IFEA), the outdoor festival celebrating arts and culture attracts a wide range of people each year to its downtown location in Iowa’s capital city and largest metropolitan area. The Festival hosts 180 artists in a beautiful urban street setting surrounding the 4.4 acres John and Mary Pappajohn Sculpture Park and the newly-constructed Krause Gentle Center designed by Renzo Piano Building Workshop. The Festival is a show dedicated to the highest standards of excellence that works diligently to maintain a positive environment for artists and their clients. The Festival is a non-profit organization founded by the Des Moines Art Center which contributes more than $65,000 annually from its proceeds to support the Des Moines Art Center, numerous area non-profit arts organizations, the continuation of the Festival, and keeping your fees low.
