Waldensian Festival

On the second weekend of August 1689, Waldenses rose from years of peril to return to their homeland in the Cottian Alps of Italy and France to rebuild their lives. We are fortunate to have been able to celebrate the Glorious Return with you and Waldensian Settlements across the world for 48 years now. The weekend-long celebration will consist of live entertainment, over 180 street vendors, attraction tours, fireworks, and more!

Sourwood Festival

Sourwood honey, a mountain tradition, is the theme for this wonderful family festival. The Sourwood Festival fills downtown Black Mountain with wholesome entertainment for both adults and children in August each year. Over 30,000 people from all over America will be in attendance at the festival which grows in popularity each year. Music, dancing, arts & crafts, super food, kid's area, face painting, and more make it the perfect event for you and your entire family. With about 200 vendors you will discover lots of local and unique arts and crafts and there will be something to please every palate.

Jeeps on the Farm

All are welcome and encouraged to attend this Jeep Show at the Denton FarmPark in Denton NC. There will be numerous local and national vendors offering parts for Jeeps, and food vendors will be available on site. The Park will be operating their train for anyone wanting to ride the Handy Dandy Rail Roadl. There will be an obstacle course in “The Pit” for anyone who wants to play in the mudd.

Laurinburg After Five - August

The 2026 Laurinburg After Five takes place in Downtown Laurinburg. The Chamber and Scotland Health Care System is happy to announce the lineup for the 2026 Laurinburg After 5 (LA5) summer concert series at McDuffie Square in Downtown Laurinburg.We hope to draw a more diverse crowd and add to the revitalization of Downtown Laurinburg. There will not be a cover charge for these events. Various food vendors will be at each event and we will have a beverage tent offering a variety of beer and wine.
