Lavendar & Honey Festival 6th

πŸ“ Reno, NVβ€’ Idlewild Park, 2055 Idlewild Dr.

Come celebrate with us at this regional festival featuring all things lavender & honey including event-themed foods, arts & crafts, music, education and even a signature beer. Celebrating the best of local farms, local food, independent businesses and the beauty of the Sierra Nevada. The festival has its roots in a community college where, for more than a decade, the Western Nevada College Specialty Crop Institute hosted training workshops for farmers including lavender and honey producers. They had a visionβ€”a lavender & honey festival to celebrate local agricultureβ€”and that vision came to life in 2017! Today, our festival is a nonprofit 501(c)(3) organization with a mission to educate the public and broaden public awareness on the benefits of supporting local farms and independent businesses through an annual festival and related events, all with lavender and honey as the organizing theme.

They set up a temporary shelter where their families slept, ate and played. Guildsmen worked at their crafts whenever business was light, and everyone sold hard, shouting their wares at passersby. Festival days were a joyous gathering of people, a bustling social event, full of colour, music, laughter, and endless commotion.
