Best Craft Fairs in Washington 2026: Top Shows for Vendors & Shoppers

By TheCraftMap TeamFebruary 15, 202610 min read

Washington state is a craft vendor's playground. Between Seattle's buzzing maker culture, Spokane's loyal shopping community, and a string of smaller towns that turn out for local artisans like nowhere else, the Evergreen State delivers year-round opportunities to sell handmade goods. Whether you're setting up a booth at Pike Place or loading your van for an Eastern Washington expo center, there's a show for every product category and experience level.

What makes Washington unique for craft vendors is the split personality of the state. West of the Cascades, you've got tech-money shoppers in Seattle and Bellevue who will pay premium prices for artisan candles, handmade soap, and one-of-a-kind jewelry. East of the mountains, Spokane and the Tri-Cities bring a more traditional craft show crowd that values quality and comes ready to buy. Smart vendors work both sides.

We pulled together the top craft fairs happening across Washington in 2026. Every event listed below is real, sourced from our database of verified shows. Use TheCraftMap's Washington search to browse even more events and filter by date, type, and location.

Seattle and Puget Sound Shows

Seattle punches way above its weight for makers markets. The city has developed a strong "buy local" culture, and weekend markets pop up in neighborhoods from Fremont to Columbia City. If you make candles, jewelry, ceramics, bath products, or anything artisan, Seattle shoppers are your people. Booth fees tend to be lower at neighborhood markets compared to big convention shows, making them ideal for newer vendors testing their products.

Tips for Selling at Seattle Markets

Seattle shoppers care about sustainability. If your packaging is eco-friendly, your ingredients are locally sourced, or your process reduces waste, put that front and center on your signage. Bring a card reader since cash-only booths lose sales here. And don't sleep on the evening markets. Fremont and Capitol Hill draw crowds after work who are in a spending mood.

Spokane and Eastern Washington

Eastern Washington has a completely different craft show culture. Spokane anchors the region with several large, well-established shows that draw vendors from across the Pacific Northwest. The Custer's shows in particular are legendary for serious craft vendors. Booth fees run higher, but attendance numbers and buyer quality make up for it. The Tri-Cities (Kennewick, Pasco, Richland) also host solid shows worth the drive.

The Custer's shows are worth a call-out. They've been running for decades and have built a loyal customer base that specifically plans shopping trips around these events. Vendors selling candles, soaps, and artisan foods do particularly well here. If you're a soap maker, tools like Soaply can help you dial in your recipes before show season.

Skagit Valley and Northern Washington

North of Seattle, the Skagit Valley and surrounding areas host craft shows with a more small-town feel. Mount Vernon and the Skagit County Fairgrounds are regular hosts for seasonal bazaars and craft fairs. These shows tend to have lower booth fees and a more relaxed vibe, making them great for vendors just starting out or testing a new product line.

Specialty and Niche Shows

Washington also hosts niche shows that attract very targeted audiences. The Sewing & Stitchery Expo in Puyallup is one of the biggest textile events in the country, drawing over 22,000 attendees. If you sell fabrics, patterns, handmade clothing, or fiber arts, this is your Super Bowl. Booth fees reflect the scale, but so does the buying power of the crowd.

Vendor Tips for Washington State

A few things to keep in mind when vending in Washington:

  • Get your Washington state business license first. The state requires a UBI (Unified Business Identifier) number for anyone selling goods. You can apply online through the Department of Revenue. Sales tax collection is required, and rates vary by city, so double-check your event location.
  • Weather is a factor, especially west of the Cascades. Even summer shows in Seattle can get a surprise rain. If you're doing outdoor markets, invest in a quality canopy with sidewalls. Eastern Washington is drier but can get brutally hot in July and August.
  • Ferry logistics matter for island shows. Bainbridge Island, the San Juans, and Whidbey Island all host craft fairs, but you need to book ferry reservations early, especially for weekend crossings. Factor in wait times and vehicle fees when calculating your costs.
  • The Seattle tech crowd loves unique, story-driven products. If your product has a compelling origin story or a unique process, lean into it. Signage that explains your craft process can be a major sales driver.
  • Eastern WA shows book up fast. The Custer's shows in particular are competitive to get into. Apply as soon as applications open and have professional photos of your products ready.
