Adams Avenue Street Fair 44th

The 44th annual Adams Avenue Street Fair – Southern California’s largest free two-day music festival is held each year in September in the community of Normal Heights. The event also features carnival rides, beer gardens and beer tastings, festival foods and 300 arts and crafts booths. Beer connoisseurs will enjoy the Street Fair’s Craft Beer Taste (from noon to 4 p.m. Saturday only), across from the Starbucks Stage. Visitors to the craft beer taste will have the opportunity to sample 2oz. tastes from 20 breweries for only $25. Three additional beer gardens are open throughout the two-day run of the street fair featuring full pour servings of San Diego’s best craft beer selection. Vendors with unique offerings also will be participating in this year’s street fair and will be set-up throughout the venue. A complete schedule of events, performance times and an Adams Avenue Street Fair map are coming soon! Adams Avenue Street Fair is underwritten by a grant from the City of San Diego’s Commission for Arts and culture and the County of San Diego.

The festival is named after the towns leading industries, nationally known Burgers' Smokehouse (country ham processor) and worldwide meat supplier, Cargill (turkey processing plant). The vendor avenue is on N. High Street, the historic part of our beautiful town. California is located 25 miles from Jefferson City, Mo. on Hwy 50 (east and west) and Hwy 87 (north and south). Festival profits go toward improving the community, supporting our youth, and making California a great place to work and to live.

At the event you will enjoy music, food, crafts, locally grown fresh produce, vendors, and informational booths about local programs. The annual event has grown over the years and will host over 130 vendors, a great line up of music, 8 food vendors, face painting, and activities for children and families. In addition, Chester Bowl t-shirts, sweatshirts, and other items will be sold by the Chester Bowl Improvement Club. We will have some new products this year, so you will want to get to the CBIC table early to buy our new gear! Suggested donations of $5 per person or $10 per family will be accepted at the entrance to support Chester winter program scholarships for kids in need who want to participate in winter sports. Donations last year totaled over $10,000 and the goal is to surpass this amount.
