We hold several craft faires throughout the year in the Sacramento region. We offer all handmade items in a boutique style environment. In order to make things easier on our customers, and vendors, we use a centralized check out system. All of our items are handmade by local crafters. You may see ceramics, wood, fabric creations, florals, bath products, cards, jewelry, and holiday items. You will find a different mix of crafters and merchandise at each show. Many of our shows also include a Sale Room containing craft supplies and fabric plus marked down craft items.

Wooden Boat Festival

Exhibitors include boats, maritime non-profits, authors, food vendors, government agencies, educators and businesses whose products or services are relevant to boaters. New exhibitor applications are reviewed by the Festival Committee and usually notified within a week.

International Camel & Ostrich Races 67th

In true Virginia City spirit, the Camel Races began as a hoax. Camels were introduced to the American frontier as pack animals, and were brought to the Comstock to carry salt and general supplies. As Virginia City grew and the V&T Railroad took over the drayage chores for the area, the sometimes disagreeable and smelly animals were turned loose in the hills, and eventually disappeared. Bob Richards, late editor of Lucius Beebe's "Territorial Enterprise," wrote a fictitious account of the city's "Camel Races" in 1959, and followed up the next year with an editorial announcement of the upcoming races. Local residents, wise to this form of humor which dates back to the tall tales of Mark Twain and Dan DeQuille, early "Enterprise" reporters, watched the first real race that year.

The Ocean Institute’s 2026 Maritime Festival is a signature waterfront celebration that brings Dana Point Harbor to life while directly supporting hands-on ocean education for students across Southern California. Held aboard the Ocean Institute’s historic campus and tall ships, the Festival blends immersive maritime traditions with family-friendly adventure including pirate and mermaid experiences, cannon battles, live music, educational exhibits, artisan vendors, food trucks, and behind-the-scenes access to the Ocean Institute’s vessels and programs. Proceeds from the Maritime Festival help fund the Ocean Institute’s school programs, field trips, and equity-focused initiatives such as Adopt-A-Class, ensuring that thousands of students each year can experience meaningful, standards-based learning on the water. This Festival is both a community tradition and a vital fundraiser that connects the public to the ocean through exploration, history, and stewardship.
