Himalayan Fair 43rd

An annual event since 1983, the fair has grown to fill Live Oak Park, showcasing vendors and crafts from all over, food from Himalayan regions and a stunning array of musicians and dancers. Classical and folk dances, ancient and modern music, traditional and fusion presentations will delight you throughout both days of the fair. It has truly become a manifestation of the early vision of a meeting place where many aspects of culture are celebrated. A unique blend of traditional and modern representations of Himalayan regions, the fair has something for everyone. Berkeley has been an ideal host for the fair, with numerous, intersecting connections to the countries of the Himalayas. To draw together community members from Tibet, Nepal, India, Bhutan, Pakistan, Afghanistan and Myanmar, and other interested people to celebrate the cultural diversity of the Himalayan region. To produce an annual festival that incorporates the commerce, entertainment and social gathering space of a Himalayan bazaar, and provide a venue for up-and-coming performers as well as seasoned headliners in the performance arts of the Himalayan region. Ocean Beach Kiwanis Children's Kite Festival 78th

Families return every year, to the oldest continuously running Children's Kite Festival in the US, now in its 78th year. Admission is free. The craft fair is well established, with vendors returning year after year. A selected number of quality food vendors are also invited. Attendance at the festival is 2000 to 2500, mostly families and children. Children are taught how to make and fly a simple kite; all materials are included free. Awards given for the best decorated kites. There are games for the children. Professional and internationally re-known kite aviators perform demonstrations accompanied by music.

CA Strawberry Festival 39th

The California Strawberry Festival is back and we’re looking forward to an exciting, family-friendly weekend of fun and flavor that pays tribute to Ventura County’s robust, world-leading strawberry industry. Guided by an all-volunteer board, the California Strawberry Festival is a 501c3 organization that gives back to the community through four postsecondary scholarship programs and weekend fundraising opportunities for more than 30 local non-profit groups. To date, the Festival has raised more than $5 million to fund these causes. Now entering its 37th year, the non-profit Festival draws more than 57,000 attendees from across SoCal by serving up a spectacular menu of delectable strawberry delights, arts & crafts booths, live entertainment, gooey contests for berry lovers of all ages, carnival rides, and more. Spaces are on concrete and asphalt, indoor and outdoor 6x10, 6x20, 10x10, 10x20. Park onsite and cart to space. Friday afternoon set-up mandatory. Electricity available for indoor spaces for a charge. Overnight security Friday night through Monday morning. Overnight parking Thursday night through Monday morning. Up to 150 artist spaces.
